Description

No. 59 The Village is a house that was originally built in the late 18th century and later remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and has a pantile roof. The house features a central hallway entry and is two storeys tall with three bays. The entrance includes a six-panel doorway set beneath a divided overlight, framed by a Doric doorcase with engaged columns. The windows are replacement 16-pane sashes located beneath cambered brick arches. A heavy timber cornice with paired dentils adds to the architectural detail, along with gable coping and end stacks.
