Description

A mid-18th century model farmhouse and barn, with a 19th-century extension and 20th-century alterations. The farmhouse and barn are constructed of brick in an English garden wall bond, with a pantile roof and corrugated iron to the barn. The farmhouse is a two-bay central entry house, with an additional bay to the left and a barn to the right. It has two storeys and three first-floor windows. The main entrance features a five-panel door beneath a divided overlight, flanked by 20th-century bow windows. A four-pane sash window is located to the extreme left. The earlier section of the farmhouse has a first-floor band. First-floor windows are four-pane sashes throughout. A dentilled eaves course runs along the top of the building, and there are end stacks. The barn has a tall double door, with a massive timber lintel and two rows of vents. A single-storey extension breaks forward to the right of the barn, also with a dentilled eaves course. Ramped garden walls extend to either end of the farmhouse, with spearhead gates and railings, including dog bars to the gates. The building is included on the list for its group value.
