Description
Beechwood House is a mid-18th century house accompanied by original gates and railings. The house is constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. It has a central hallway entrance and a symmetrical façade of three bays, arranged over two storeys. A 20th-century half-glazed door is set beneath a 20th-century pedimented canopy. The house features plate-glass sash windows throughout, with a blocked opening in the centre of the first floor. The ground-floor windows are set below flat arches, and a first-floor band runs along with a dentilled eaves course. Raised gable ends are present, with end stacks. Inside, round-headed alcoves are situated on either side of the fireplaces in the reception rooms. Some H-L hinges remain on cupboard doors. The front gates and railings have fleur-de-lys finials to the bars and acorn finials to the posts, with the exception of ball finials on the gate posts.
