Description

40 Bootham is a house from the early 19th century that has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed of painted brick and features a pantiled roof. The building has three storeys and two bays. The windows are sash style, with exposed sash boxes and brick arches. In the left-hand bay, there is a timber doorcase that includes fluted engaged columns, a frieze with raised border panels, and a cornice hood. The reveals of the doorcase are panelled, and above the late 19th-century panelled door, there is a plain overlight. The house has shared chimneys on both the left and right sides. The interior has not been inspected.
