Description
Stockton Hall is a house built around 1800, constructed of brick in Flemish bond with a Welsh slate roof. It features a central-entry double-pile plan with a service wing on the right. The building stands three storeys high and has five bays.
The main facade includes a plinth that is interrupted by an Ionic porch with paired columns, which supports a double-leaf glazed door topped by a radial fanlight. The ground and first floors have sash windows with glazing bars set on a continuous sill, while the window above the door is framed by an eared and shouldered architrave with a pediment. The second floor contains 6-pane sashes, with the central window also in an eared and shouldered architrave. A moulded cornice runs along the top, and the hipped roof has stacks that rise through its pitch.
The garden facade mirrors the glazing of the main facade but features a central bay with a pediment that slightly projects forward. This bay includes a three-window bow on the ground floor and a Venetian window on the first floor.
Inside, the entrance hall has blind round-headed arcades that lead to an arch supported by composite columns. A spinal corridor features three blind arches and a fluted pilaster on the right.
