Description
Hall Cottage is a house built between 1909 and 1914 by Parker and Unwin for the Joseph Rowntree Village Trust. It features pebbledashed brick and a French tile roof, with its gable end facing the street. The building has two storeys and two bays, with a single-storey extension beneath a catslide roof on the left and a two-bay single-storey extension on the right.
On the gable end, there is a three-light casement window to the left, a central two-light casement, and a single-light casement to the right, all sheltered by a hung tile canopy. The left extension is set back and has a single-light fixed window. The right extension includes a recent greenhouse to the left and a three-light casement window flanked by buttresses to the right. A party wall within this extension disrupts the roof line. On the first floor, a central brick flue projects forward and is flanked by three-light casements with hung tile canopies. There is also an end stack.
