Description
The Old Vicarage is a rectory, now converted into flats, built in 1846 by Charles Ward of Lincoln. It is constructed of red brick with a slate roof and features two storeys and eight bays, with a central four-bay section flanked by slightly projecting two-bay wings. The entrance is located to the right of the central section and consists of a six-panelled door beneath a radial fanlight, set in a panelled reveal with a decorative surround and archivolt. The building has twelve-pane sash windows with cills, which are topped by channelled and keyed stucco cambered arches; the end bays have blind window panels. The first floor features similar windows under cambered brick arches, with the end bays again having blind window panels. The eaves are deep and modillioned, and the roof is hipped over the wings. There are end stacks at the front of the wings and a lateral stack on the central range. Inside, the property includes panelled doors, architraves, and plaster ceiling cornices.
