Description

County Bridge, dated 1828, is located on Bridge Street. The foundation stone is said to be inscribed with the names of J S Padley, the county surveyor from Lincoln; Geo Willoughby, the mason and contractor from York; and W T Leake, the clerk of the Works from Louth. The bridge features a single span rusticated stone arch, complemented by a modern handrail added in 1951. There are semi-circular buttresses on either side, below niches. County Bridge is included as part of a group with other properties in Bridge Street and Market Place.
