Description
Nos 2 and 3 Market Place is a former public house built in the early 19th century. It is a three-storey building constructed of yellow brick. The façade features end pilasters and pilasters on either side of a segmental-headed carriage archway, which has a stone head with a keystone. The pilasters have stone caps, and there are bands at the cills. The building has a moulded gutter.
The windows are arranged in a 3:1 pattern, with three modern glazed windows and one single window with hung sashes and glazing bars on the first floor. Above the archway, there are two modern windows in the centre break band. The ground floor includes a modern shop front to the left and late 19th-century shop fronts on two elevations. The side elevation facing the Market Place has two windows on each storey, featuring hung sashes with glazing bars. Nos 2 to 4 Market Place form a group.
