Description

This building is a stable, granary, and pigeon cote located approximately 20 metres north of Number 16 (Poplars Farmhouse). It was constructed in 1808 and is made of brown brick with a concrete tile roof. The structure has a single-room plan and stands three storeys tall, featuring two first-floor windows.

On the south side, there is a central round-headed board door set beneath a rubbed-brick arch with an ashlar keystone. This door is flanked by 20th-century two-light casements in original openings, which are also beneath segmental stretcher arches. The first floor has a pair of similar windows under segmental header arches. The second floor features a central round-headed opening with twin openings, which have been boarded over at the time of resurvey, and is situated beneath four panes. The building has a stepped and dentilled brick eaves cornice, and the raised gables show tumbled-in brickwork. The gable ends display wrought-iron figures indicating the year "1808".

On the right side, there is a brick staircase with sandstone treads leading to a first-floor board door beneath a brick flat arch. There is also a recessed round-headed panel in the attic with blocked pigeon holes. The rear of the building includes three small breathers on the ground floor and a segmental-headed first-floor hatch with louvred doors.
