Description
The tack room and adjacent dog kennel, located approximately 40 metres north of Cleatham Hall, were likely built in the mid-19th century. The tack room is constructed of squared limestone with yellow brick dressings and features a slate roof. It has a square shape and includes a six-fielded panel door set beneath a segmental brick arch. The roof is hipped and topped with an ashlar ball finial. The kennel is made of yellow brick with ashlar coping, cast-iron railings, and also has a slate roof. It is square in plan and has an open yard in front. There is a stone-coped dwarf wall with railings that adjoins the tack room, with a corner pier on the left side. The kennel has a round-arched entrance at the rear of the yard, and there is a stone-coped left return wall that features a plank door. This building is included for its group value with Cleatham Hall.
