Description
Cleatham Villa is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with a front that has been extended to the rear and re-roofed in the later 19th century. In 1984, some of the late 19th-century rendering was partially removed. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with a rendered basement, and features red brick and stucco dressings. It has a slate roof and yellow brick stacks. The house is two storeys high with a basement and consists of three symmetrical bays.
A flight of five stone steps leads to a central Doric doorcase, which has attached pilasters supporting an open dentilled pediment. The doorcase features a panelled reveal with a radial fanlight and a later 19th-century panelled door. The windows on the basement and ground floor are 16-pane sashes with stucco cills and lintels, while the first floor has similar windows, with a central 12-pane sash. The roof is hipped, and there are end stacks. Inside, the villa retains original panelled window shutters, doors, and architraves.
