Description
The White Cottage is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later alterations to the stacks and roof. It is constructed from roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a smooth rendered finish, with brick stacks and a concrete tile roof. The building has a two-room central entrance plan and a later continuous rear outshut. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, presenting a symmetrical facade. The entrance features a boarded door with a plain overlight beneath a segmental arch, flanked by single 20th-century casements in original openings with timber lintels. On the first floor, there are three 20th-century casements in original openings with timber lintels, with a narrower window in the center. The building has later rebuilt single-flue end stacks. Inside, there are beamed ceilings and a massive stack to the right.
