Description
This building consists of a house and barn/store located approximately 30 metres northwest of Westcote Farmhouse. It was constructed in the late 18th century for George Uppleby of Barrow Hall and has undergone some later alterations and an addition on the left side. The structure is made of brick and features a pantile roof. It has a rectangular layout, with the barn on the right and the house on the left, which has its entrance at the rear.
The building stands two storeys high and has six irregular bays. The section on the right includes a round-headed board door with wrought-iron strap hinges, flanked by pairs of slit vents. There are two 20th-century casement windows at the left end. On the first floor, there are five slit vents and two board doors with strap hinges on the right, along with one sliding sash window to the left that has glazing bars and a timber lintel at the eaves level. The eaves are stepped, and the gables are brick coped and tumbled. The left side features a large projecting end stack, and the upper section of the gable has been rebuilt, with G U tie-bar ends.
