Description
Chapel Farmhouse is a late 18th century or early 19th century building located on the west side of Brigg Road. It is two storeys high, constructed of red brick with coursed stone and red brick dressings on the front elevation. The roofs are made of Welsh slate and feature battlemented parapets, giving it a Gothick style. The central section projects and has three pointed arched flush casement windows arranged in a 1:1:1 pattern. The outer wings are adorned with symmetrical sloped brick battlements. On the ground floor, there is a blocked arched door to the left and a later door in a brick porch to the right, which has carved bargeboards and a moulded surround to a half-glazed door, situated below a half-sized lancet window. At the back, there is a large early to mid 19th century wing made of brick with hipped Welsh slate roofs. Chapel Farmhouse and its associated farm buildings are of local interest and form a cohesive group.
