Description
The farmhouse and barn at Barton Field Farm, likely built in the late 18th century, are two-storey structures made of brick with a pantile roof. The farmhouse features a stone-coped gable end to the right, complete with a kneeler and end stacks. It has three windows with segmental arches and modern casements. The entrance has a doorcase with grooved narrow pilasters, a flat hood, a blocked rectangular fanlight, and a modern door. There is a dentil brick eaves cornice, and the rear wing is also two storeys high, with modern glazing except for one sliding sash window with glazing bars on the first floor. A modern porch has been added. The attached barn, built around the same time, has a pantile roof and stone-coped gable ends with kneelers, and is constructed of brick with ventilation slits.
