Description
Nos 21 and 23 on Whitecross Street are 18th-century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed from whitewashed brick with a pantile roof and a diagonal-set brick eaves cornice. The first floor features two flush sliding sash windows, which were boarded up at the time of the survey, along with two ground floor windows and two doors that were also boarded. There is a right-hand carriageway with a flat lintel beneath a large window with glazing bars, which is now boarded up. These buildings, along with Nos 11 to 23 (odd), The Volunteer Inn, and Nos 27 to 37 (odd), form a group, with Nos 27 to 33 (odd) being of local interest only.
