Description
This is a disused sewage pumping station located 10 metres west of Pickering Homes, built around 1909, likely designed by architect JH Hirst, who also designed the nearby Pickering Homes. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a plain tile roof, reflecting a style that complements the adjacent Pickering Homes. Notable architectural details include a chamfered plinth, quoins, and coped gables with kneelers. The facing gable has a round-arched doorway that is now blocked, and above it is a roundel with a lozenge-shaped window. The roof is topped with a gabled ventilator. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby buildings.
