Description
The City of Hull Police Fire Box Number 6 and gates at the south entrance to West Park is a former fire box, now disused, built around 1890 and altered in 1990. The structure is made of brick with terracotta dressings and features hipped slate roofs. The fire box, located on the right, is a single-storey building with a three-window range. It has a plinth, a moulded sill band, and dentillated eaves. The central entrance is a half-glazed 20th-century door, flanked by single windows that are boarded up. The right side has a blocked window, and these openings are topped with moulded ogee heads. To the left, there is a set-back stable that has a large opening on the left with a wooden lintel and a smaller opening on the right. In front of the building, there are two coped square gatepiers and a pair of scrolled wrought-iron gates.
