Description
11 and 12 Savile Street are two houses that have been converted into shops. They were built in the early 18th century and have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exterior is made of painted brick and features a steeply pitched concrete tile roof with coped gables. The buildings are three storeys high and have a six-window range. On the first floor, there are three plain sash windows on the left and a late 19th-century three-light shop window with curved brackets supporting the fascia cornice on the right. Above, there are three smaller plain sash windows to the left and two taller plain sash windows to the right. The ground floor has two 20th-century shop fronts. Inside, there is an early 19th-century winder stair leading to the attics and some two-panel doors. Houses from this period are rare in Hull.
