Description
Meaux Abbey Farm is a house built in the late 18th century. It features a red brick main elevation in header bond, with stretcher bond on the sides and rear, and has timber eaves cornices along with graduated slate roofs. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with single-storey wings on either side.
The central recess has a gauged-brick round arch that contains a door made of six raised and fielded panels, topped with a fanlight featuring radial glazing under a round arch with a projecting keyblock on imposts and fluted pilasters. There is an insurance plaque above the door. The windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars and sills, set under flat gauged brick arches. On the first floor, there are three similar windows.
The house has a moulded eaves cornice, end stacks, and raised coped gables. The flanking wings each have Venetian windows, with the right wing featuring painted windows with intersecting glazing bars, all under gauged brick arches. The wings also have raised coped gables and end stacks.
