Description
Tickton Grange is a house that has been converted into a hotel. It has origins dating from the early to mid-18th century, with significant extensions added in the 19th century and later to the rear. The building is constructed of brick and is colour-washed, featuring lead and slate roofs. It has two storeys and two bays, with a lower single-bay extension on the left side that is recessed. The structure has a plinth and stuccoed quoins.
On the ground floor, there are two canted bays with sash windows that have glazing bars, positioned under flat lead roofs. The first floor features two sash windows with sills and glazing bars, each under wedge lintels corresponding to the bays below. The building has a low parapet adorned with 19th-century urns at the corners, a hipped roof, and both end and axial stacks. The left bay includes an infilled Tuscan porch with 20th-century double-leaf glazed doors beneath a sash window with glazing bars. The low parapet also has an urn. The later extensions at the rear do not hold special architectural interest. Inside, the building features principal rafter roofs with tusked and tenoned side purlins.
