Description

Kirk Ella Hall is a house that has been converted into a club-house. It dates from the late 18th century, with 19th-century additions on the left side. The building is constructed of yellow brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and features seven bays, with the central three bays slightly projecting.

The entrance has a central double-leaf glazed and panelled door with an overlight, set within a projecting porch that has a Tuscan doorcase and a balustered parapet. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, set under wedge lintels. There is a band at the first floor level. The first floor includes a central tripartite window with a two-pane sash, flanked by attached Tuscan columns and sidelights, all under a moulded cornice. To the right and left of this window are additional sashes with sills and glazing bars, also under wedge lintels. The building has a moulded cornice and a coped parapet.

The south (garden) front features two-storey canted bays on either side of the Tuscan porch. The ground floor has two-pane sashes with sills, and there is a first-floor band. The sashes on the first floor also have sills and glazing bars. Above the door in the centre bay of the first floor is a tripartite Tuscan window similar to that on the entrance front. The building has an eaves cornice and a balustered parapet, with end stacks and a hipped roof.
