Description
No. 11 Packman Lane is a lodge to Kirk Ella Hall, built in 1838, which has since been converted into a house. The building features brick construction with pebbledash and colour-washed finishes, stone dressings, and a slate roof, all designed in the Jacobean style. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, consisting of two main sections and a gabled cross wing on the right, along with a single-bay lean-to extension on the left.
The main entrance has a 4-centred pointed arch adorned with foliage in the spandrels, beneath a stepped hoodmould that includes a shield with the inscription "Built AD 1838" in Gothic lettering, located in a projecting porch. Inside the porch, there are two 3-panelled Gothick doors. To the right of the entrance, there is a 2-light cross-mullion window. The cross wing features a small canted bay window, while the gable has an oblong window. All windows are fitted with latticed glazing bars, and the extension has a 2-light casement window with glazing bars. The building also has oversailing eaves with barge boards and features both end and axial stacks.
