Description

Newport Grange is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of grey brick with Westmorland and Welsh slate roofs. The main house is three bays wide, with a cross wing to the rear and another wing to the left, which has its own roofline. The central entrance features a six-fielded-panel door with glazed upper panels and a radial fanlight, set within a Tuscan doorcase supporting a wrought-iron balustrade. The ground floor windows of the main house are sashes with glazing bars, while the wing to the left has a tripartite plate-glass sash. The first floor of the main house has 16-pane sashes, and the wing has a tripartite sash with glazing bars. Channelled wedge lintels with fluted keystones are present above all windows. The main house incorporates end stacks, and the roof is hipped.
