Description
The building is a former Methodist Church, now serving as a bank and church rooms, dating from 1789 as indicated on the gable end ties. It is constructed of brick in English bond and has a pantile roof. The structure is two storeys high with four first-floor windows. On the left side, there is a pair of doors, one made of hardboard and the other half-glazed, flanked by blocked windows. The right side features a similar arrangement, with the right door being glazed and a plate-glass fixed window to the right. A central brass plaque commemorates "the brave Newport lads who fell in the Great War 1914-18." The first floor has 8-pane fixed windows, and all openings are set beneath segmental arches. Above, there is a central clock face with a bellcote and bell located in the pitch of the roof. The gable ends are raised, with shaped kneelers and end stacks, the one on the left having been rebuilt.
