Description
The Molescroft is a public house built in the late 18th century. It features a brick structure that is rendered and colour-washed, topped with a clay tile roof. The building has two storeys and attics, arranged in a symmetrical elevation with three bays. The entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door with an overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase that has elaborate brackets supporting a projecting hood. This entrance is flanked on both sides by 4-pane sash windows, which have sills and boarded shutters. On the first floor, there are three 4-pane sash windows with sills. The roof includes three gabled dormers, each with 6-pane sash windows. The building has end stacks and features tumbled-in brickwork at the raised gables, which are supported by shaped kneelers. An extension to the right is noted as not being of special interest.
