Description
This is a group of seven recumbent grave markers dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century, located about 10 metres west of The White House in Hornsea Southgate. These graves belong to the Acklam family, who lived at The White House during this period.
- The first marker commemorates Thomas and Annamaria Acklome, who both died in 1667 at the age of 72.
- The second marker is for Peter, the son of Thomas Acklome, who died in 1690 at the age of 72.
- The third marker is for Thomas, the son of Peter Acklome, who died in 1699 at the age of 38.
- The fourth marker is for Annamaria, daughter of Peter Acklome Junior, who died in 1700 at the age of 12.
- The fifth marker is for Peter, son of Peter and Alice Acklome, who died on 29th July 1744 at nearly 85 years old.
- The sixth marker is from the 17th century but is broken and illegible.
- The seventh marker is also broken and illegible.
