Description

April Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick, which has been colour-washed, and has a clay tile roof. The house has a 2-room plan, with the entrance on the right side. It is two storeys high with two first-floor windows. A 20th-century door is present, alongside a 2-light and a 3-light window, both set within a late 18th or 19th century segmental-headed opening. The right gable has a tile coping and a shaped stone kneeler. The building features a large axial stack. The interior has not been investigated. The cottage is included on the list for its group value.
