Description

The Pocklington Memorial Cross is approximately 4 meters tall and features a Yorkshire brown stone cross atop a tapering octagonal shaft made of Yorkshire white stone. This shaft is set on a square pedestal, also crafted from Yorkshire white stone, which displays the inscription: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND/ IN MEMORY OF OUR COMRADES/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918" along with 52 names. The pedestal is positioned on a two-stepped base within a paved area, surrounded by two small lawns that include flower beds.
