Description
Field House Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse with 19th-century alterations and additions at the rear. It is constructed of brown brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is L-shaped in plan, featuring a two-room central entrance hall on the north front, along with a kitchen wing and a later extension to the rear. The farmhouse stands two storeys high with an attic and has three symmetrical bays.
The entrance features a 19th-century doorcase with pilasters that support an entablature and hood, leading to a two-fold half-glazed panelled door with a plain overlight set in a panelled reveal. The original openings have been fitted with 20th-century casements, which are topped with painted rubbed-brick flat arches. The gables are stone-coped and include shaped kneelers, while the ends have corniced stacks. The left return of the building also has similar casements beneath stucco flat arches.
Inside, the farmhouse features an open well staircase with a ramped handrail and turned balusters, along with moulded cornices and panelled doors.
