Description
This is a row of four houses located on Gardeners Row, built in the late 18th century with later additions and alterations. They were likely designed by Sir Christopher Sykes, 2nd Baronet. The houses are constructed from pinkish-brown brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof. They are two storeys high and feature 13 bays, which are defined by a blind arcade of round arches with impost bands. The entrances are located in the third, fifth, ninth, and eleventh bays, each consisting of 6-fielded-panel doors set under elliptical arches. The ground floor mainly has 12-pane sash windows, except for the fourth bay, which has a 16-pane sash window, all under elliptical arches. The design includes stepped eaves, a hipped roof, and four ridge stacks.
