Description

Nos 16 to 20 on Butcher Row in Beverley date from around 1769 and are possibly the work of architect Middleton. The building is three storeys high, constructed of painted brick, and topped with a plain tile roof featuring coped gable ends. It has a plain dentil eaves cornice and seven windows, which have been reglazed in plate glass and are mainly near-flush-frame sash windows. The centre opening on the ground floor is set in a recessed reveal with a double gauged brick arch. There are two modern shop fronts, and the doorcase has been removed to Highgate House.
