Description
Nos. 55 and 56 on Saturday Market are 16th-century buildings with later alterations. They are two storeys high with an attic, constructed from roughcast and painted timber frame, topped with a pantiled roof that features a low stone-coped parapet and two 3-light casement dormers. The front has three windows, with two 3-light windows flanking a single light, all without glazing bars. To the left is a bowed shop front with large glazing bars, and a 19th-century shop front with modern glazing. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels, two of which are glazed. Inside, there are massive hewn beams and posts at the ground floor.
