Description
No. 50 on Saturday Market is a building likely dating from the late 18th century. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a pantile roof. The eaves cornice is delicately detailed with wood modillions, and there is a fluted lead rainwater head and fall pipe. The building features three windows with rusticated painted heads, which are either stucco or stone, and near flush frames without glazing bars. The original double shop front includes pilasters and an entablature, and it has been reglazed with plate glass. The soffit of the cornice is enhanced with panels and rosettes. The house doorway has a reeded transom, a plain rectangular fanlight, and wood pilasters.
