Description

The Manor House is a house built in the late 18th century. It features red brick, stone, and wrought iron, topped with a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and a basement, with a five-bay front arranged in a 3:1:1 pattern. Access is via five stone steps leading to a brick arch, with wrought-iron ramped handrails that include boot-scrapers. The main entrance consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels, topped by a fanlight with radial glazing, set within panelled reveals and soffit. The doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters and an open dentilled pediment.

To the left of the entrance, there are three 16-pane sash windows with sills, each placed under segmental brick arches. To the right, there is a blocked opening that was concealed by ivy during the last survey. On the first floor, there are four similar sash windows and another blocked opening to the right. The house has axial and end stacks and a hipped roof.

The rear elevation shows scattered fenestration and features a semicircular stair turret. On the ground floor of the turret, there is a door of six raised and fielded panels in panelled reveals and soffit, with a doorcase that has brackets supporting a moulded cornice, all curved in plan. The first floor of the turret has a round-headed sash window with glazing bars and radial glazing, set under a gauged brick arch. The low parapet is topped with stone coping.
