Description
The cart house, stables, and pigeon cote at Croom House Farm, now used as workshops, likely date from the late 18th century and have undergone later additions and alterations. The building is constructed of reddish-brown brick and clunch, featuring sandstone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high, with a single central bay of brick and two lower storey, three-bay wings.
The central cart entrance consists of a double plank door with a blind overlight, set beneath a round arch made of gauged brick. Above this, there is an oculus with slats and glazing. The eaves are cogged, and the roof is pyramidal. The wings are approximately similar, with brick plinths and quoins. Each wing has central entrances that are board doors with overlights featuring vertical glazing, set beneath blind fanlights and round arches of gauged brick. The windows are multi-paned and slatted, also under blind fanlights and round arches of gauged brick. On the first floor, there are pitching doors and multi-paned windows, with cogged eaves and hipped roofs, the left wing topped with a ball finial.
