Description
This is a garden statue of an angel with a horn, located in the water garden approximately 15 metres east of Burton Agnes Hall. It was likely created in the mid 18th century. The statue stands on an ashlar plinth that is square in shape, featuring a cavetto-moulded base and an ovolo-moulded cornice, which has been partly re-cut. The angel is depicted as a naked winged figure, standing on its right leg, holding a horn in its left hand and a staff in its right hand. The entire statue is approximately 2 metres high and is part of a group of 18th-century statues in the gardens.
