Description

44 and 46 Westwood Road are a pair of houses dating to 1893, designed by Smith and Brodrick. They are two storeys and have attics, with two dormers, each of three lights. The houses feature two moulded outer gables with stone coping, incorporating mullion windows. Below these are two canted bays, with 4-6-4 lights, and a two-storey central window of 6-6 lights, set beneath a cornice that rises to a central gable. This gable is above a strapwork panel featuring a female head at its centre. Outer windows are present on both storeys, and there are two central six-light windows. The pair of front doors, situated between the canted bays, have six fielded panels and are topped by two-light fanlights, with flat hoods supported by brackets.
