Description

Old Hall is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It has three bays on the right that were raised by one storey in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick with pantiled roofs. The original range consists of a single storey and attics over a deep basement, featuring a six-window front on the ground floor.

The central entrance has a boarded door with an overlight, flanked on both sides by large six-pane sash windows, and there is a small 20th-century inserted window on the extreme right. To the left, there are two additional six-pane sashes, and on the extreme left, there is a timber cross-mullion window with two lights, although the right light is now blocked and has internal boarded shutters. The house has a deep moulded brick eaves cornice, a small 20th-century dormer, and a hipped roof with a triple axial stack over the three left bays. The first floor of the three right bays has three 20th-century windows with sills. There are stacks at both the end and front roof pitches.

Inside, no original features remain, but the roof structure over the three left bays is likely intact. The ground-floor room on the right includes a fireplace in a corner position. The basement runs the full width of the house and contains a row of central brick piers, which have not been fully investigated.
