Description

The base of St Philip's Cross is a medieval structure located approximately 10 centimetres east of Ebor House on Church Lane in Keyingham. Made of ashlar, it features a stump of a square shaft resting on a square pedestal, with an overall height of about 0.5 metre. This cross is dedicated to Philip Ingleberd, who was the vicar of Keyingham around 1325, and whose shrine was located in the south chapel of the nearby Church of St Nicholas. The cross originally stood in a field to the south-west.
