Description

This is a terrace of seven identical houses, numbers 67 to 79 Bebington Road, built in 1899 as part of the Port Sunlight model village, designed by Ernest Newton. The houses are constructed of stone with pebbledash on the first floor and a tile roof. They are arranged as a single storey with an attic, over seven bays. The first, fourth, and seventh bays project forward under gabled roofs that slope down on one side to form porches. A drip mould runs over the ground floor windows. The ground floor has four-light, double-chamfered-mullioned windows with leaded lights. The first floor features four-light leaded casement windows, with those to the second, third, fifth, and sixth bays set within gabled half-dormers. The porches have low stone walls and spindle balusters, while the other entrances feature stone canopies. The plank doors, which have small-paned glass lights, are set within segmental arches. There are three axial stacks with heart and diamond decorative patterns, along with two rear stacks and return projecting lateral stacks. The rear of the terrace has two pairs of gables, and 20th-century extensions are visible.
