Description

This is a terrace of four houses, built around 1854 as part of a planned village for the Price's Patent Candle Company. It is one of the earliest examples of a model industrial village. The houses are constructed of brick with a hipped slate roof. They are two storeys high and have eight bays. The windows have gauged brick arches above and contain sash glazing bars. The entrances feature Tudor-arched fanlights with glazing bars and four-panel doors, though No. 16 has a 20th-century replacement door. There are three cross-axial chimney stacks. The rear of the properties have gabled wings.
