Description

Nos. 3 and 4 Neston Road are two houses built in 1893 by Douglas and Fordham. They are constructed of stone with a pargetted first floor and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of three bays. The first floor juts out on a bressumer. The windows have leaded glazing, with the ground floor featuring three-light rectangular bay windows that have cusped round heads. On the first floor, there is a central four-light casement flanked by two four-light canted oriels set on coved bases. The porch includes diagonal buttresses and a four-centred arched opening with carved spandrels. The entrances are canted inwards and have Tudor heads, with plank doors that feature strap hinges. The stone gable-end stacks are decorated with fleur-de-lys motifs.
