Description

The stone shelter located to the south of St. George's Church was built between 1906 and 1907 by J. Lomax-Simpson. It is constructed of stone and features a stone slate roof. The shelter has a hexagonal plan with clasping buttresses and a parapet on a corbel table. There are two gargoyles and a pyramidal roof. The exterior showcases richly moulded round arches supported by round responds. Inside, the shelter has a ribbed dome on angle shafts, banded stone cells, and a central dragon boss. Steps lead down to the road.
