Description
This is a terrace of four houses located at 2-8 Boundary Road, Port Sunlight, built in 1899 by Grayson and Ould. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings, featuring timber framing on the first floor and a tile roof that is half-hipped on the right return. The terrace is one storey high with an attic, arranged over four bays; the central two bays project forward under a hipped roof.
The windows are leaded casements. The projecting central bays contain two-storey, four-light canted oriels set under gables, with small windows flanking them. A ground floor window has two lights and chamfered mullions. The outer first-floor windows are two-light units within flat-topped half-dormers. Two chimney stacks run across the width of the building. Each end bay has a projecting chimney stack with diagonal flues.
The right return features a gabled first-floor oriel connecting to numbers 45-55 Bebington Road. The entrances are sheltered by canopies with plank doors. The rear elevation has timbered dormers and privies.
