Description

This is a terrace of six houses located on Manor Road in Thornton Hough, built in the 1890s by William and Segar Owen. The houses are constructed of stone with timber-framing, brick stacks, and a tiled roof. They are two storeys high and feature six irregular bays. The second bay projects under a gable, while the fourth bay also breaks forward under a gable. The first floor of the fifth and sixth bays jetties out. The third bay, along with the first floor of the second and fourth bays, showcases timber-framing.

The windows throughout the terrace feature leaded glazing. The ground floor of the second bay has a notable four-light single-chamfered-mullioned window with decorated lintels. The third bay includes windows with two and four lights, while the fourth bay has a four-light window. The fifth and sixth bays also have four-light windows, similar to those in the second bay, and are part of two-storey projections that are gabled and topped with ball finials. On the first floor, there are three-light windows, with the fifth and sixth bays featuring double-chamfered mullions.

The entrances to the houses have plank doors with strap hinges. The entrances in the first and fifth bays are adorned with porches supported by Tuscan columns, while the entrance in the sixth bay has a label mould with a finial. There is a lateral stack on the first bay and returns on the second and fifth bays, all featuring diagonal shafts. Additionally, there are four other stacks, one of which has twisted shafts. The left return of the terrace includes a projecting gabled bay.
