Description

A pair of houses dating to circa 1837. They are constructed of stone with a slate roof. The two-bay design features a first-floor sill band and a top cornice. The windows have label moulds and 2-light horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. Both entrances have label moulds; the entrance to No. 2 has a 20th-century gabled porch, and the entrance to No. 4 has a gabled porch with latticed sides. A central, cross-axial stack is present. The houses were built in connection with the Stanley Tramway, which ran from Storeton Quarry to Bromborough Quay.
