Description

This is a terrace of five houses located at 6 to 14 Primrose Hill, Bebington, built in 1899 as part of the Port Sunlight model village development. The architects were Douglas and Minshull. The houses are constructed of brick with some pebbledash, and have hipped tile roofs.

The terrace is two storeys high and five bays wide, with the end bays projecting forward under hipped gables. A tile canopy covers the ground floor, and pebbledash panels are set between the windows of each bay. Deep, bracketed eaves are present. The windows are leaded casements, with heart motifs incorporated into the design. The central bays feature two-storey rectangular bay windows with four lights, and small flanking lights on the ground floor. The end bays have five-light windows. Segmentally-headed entrances have doors with two leaded lights. Five chimney stacks rise in a cross-axial arrangement. Return porches are hipped. The rear elevation is similarly constructed, with plasterwork to the first floor and small-paned casements. Former privies are also present.
