Description
Nos. 5 to 11 on The Folds is a terrace of four houses built in 1892 by William and Segar Owen. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings, featuring a timber-framed first floor and a tiled roof. The first floor has jettied gables, and there is a stone cornice at the ground floor level. The first floor also has pargetted coving, decorated bressumers, and bargeboards.
The windows are small-paned casements, with the ground floor showcasing single-chamfered-mullioned windows that have three lights, while the end bays feature four-light canted bay windows. On the first floor, there are projecting casements arranged in a pattern of 4:3:3:4 lights. The entrances have doors with vertical strips and strap hinges, and there are decorative rainwater heads. The houses also have three cross-axial stacks.
